Festival Of Trees

Last weekend I had the chance to take my mother in law, Jana to the Festival of Trees to volunteer for 3 hours, plus look at all the trees!! It was so much fun, I've been going down the festival for years and love going each time to volunteer. I usually go with my mom and aunts and cousin's but with everyone's busy schedule's we kindof split up this year. So Saturday Jana and I went and helped. We were in the the Sweets Ect. Shoppe....so all morning I was looking at all these yummy treats and sweets!! It was hard to hold back and not buy anything but I did get a carmel covered apple...DELICIOUS!!!! We walked through all the trees after, and all the wreaths, let's just say my feet were sore!!! Here are some of our favorite trees!

Thanksgiving and soon to be Christmas!

For Thanksgiving this year, Nick and I went to Grandma and Grandpa Campbell's house. It was so fun and so filling!!! We had a ton of food. Every time we go to their house they cook for like 50 and there is only 20 of us!! We had fun hanging out and being together as a family. I think everyone was there except for my brother that's on a mission. We ate, did crafts, ate more, played games and ate more!! Nick started a beanie but hasn't finished yet, and I took a nap! We love playing games on the Campbell side so we did that until Nick and I had to leave to go to a movie with his family. So we met them at the Layton Movie Theater and saw Australia. Good thing I took a nap the movie was 2 hours and 45 minutes!!! But it was really good, I even shed a tear towards the end! After the movie we went home and went to bed. Nick had to work at HomeDepot at 6:00 and I was going to St. George for the weekend with my mom and sister. While I was gone in St. George, Nick did laundry and supposivley cleaned...the bathroom though I don't know if it got clean but that was very nice of him to do the laundry!! Anyways, St. George was great, it was 65 degrees and sunny the whole time!! We shopped, slept, and read, and did about 10 Thank You cards for the wedding. (My bad, trust me we are getting them done slowly but surely, but we are very thankfull for everyone that gave us something or was part of our wedding day!!) So while shopping at Tai Pan Trading I did get a few decorations for Christmas even thinking that I wasn't going to have a big tree and was going to make whatever I had work for this Christmas. My mom dropped me off at Nick's parent house on our way home from St. George and I did get a few more Christmas stuff from Jana, and on our way home Nick mentioned that he messed with the light switches and switched one of the light switches so that when you turn the light on one of the lamps comes on, so I was like oh cool!! We got home and I came down the stairs and flicked the switch and A BIG 7 1/2 FOOT PRE LITE CHRISTMAS TREE WAS UP!!!!!!!!

I was so suprised!!!! Nick is the best, he went to work a few minutes early and bought one of the door buster trees!!! He got it for $50 bucks instead of $200....
I was so excited, it looks great in our little basement and almost was in tears!! Nick is the best, he always has some little suprise for him and I love him so much I can't even describe what he does for me!! So Tuesday night we decorated the tree and did what we could with what we had. It looks great, so now we have to have a Christmas Party!!

We've been busy!!

Last weekend was so much fun!! We went to the Temple with Nick's parents. That was my frist time back since getting married. I LOVE THE TEMPLE.
We had dinner at Whitney's house Friday; thanks for the homemade soup, it was tasty! I made HOMEMADE ROLLS...yes, HOMEMADE from scratch!! Nick's mom always make homemade rolls for Sunday dinner so I got her recipe and tried it out myself, they turned out greast, not as perfectly rounded as Jana's but they were great for my first time making rolls!! Anyways, we had a blast over at Whit and Jake's house, I love going over there to play with their adorable kids!!
Saturday I cleaned and did laundry while Nick was at work....I do that ever Saturday so if anyone wants to play or get together on Saturday's that would be great. I would love to not have to clean and do laundry! Ha! Saturday night we went to the Salt Lake Real soccer game. They played the New York Red Bulls for the Semi Finals (I think) it was the first time Nick and I had been to the new stadium. It was so much fun except we lost. The 2nd half of the game was great, it was fun to actually be there. After the game we went to the hospital. Nick's sister Meagan had her BABY!!! We got to the hospital at like 10:45 ish and she had the baby at 11:33!!! Oh my gosh it was so neat to actually be there and get to see the baby right after. Let me tell you, she had the EASIEST labour!! I hope I'm lucky like that one day!! Sunday we went back to the hopsital to see baby Savannah, she's so cute!! Well that's all that happend last week....we'll see what goes on this week!

Ok, so I had a Volleyball game Monday night right after work and I got a call from Nick around 4:00 saying he's sick and he's going to lay down and not come to the game. Me being the smart one totally know what's up his sleeve. So I say ok, get feeling better and I'll be home after the game. So I drive home, and pull into the garage and go to open the door and this note is taped up: ATTENTION SHAYLEE Read this before coming downstairs... IT IS IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS: 1. DO NOT ask questions 2. Hope you did good at your game, now relax and go straight to the shower. 3. Don't look in the kitchen or in the living room, you will be tempted but DON'T. 4. WOW, time sure does fly by!! I can't believe a month has came and gone since Nick and I got married. It's been a great month with lots of fun activities!!! First the wedding, it was beautiful, I finally have seen pictures, and wanted to thank everyone that helped and was part of our special day!! It was gorgeous!!! Second, the honeymoon, Cancun was perfect, was stayed at an amazing resort and everything was included, food, drinks, more food and more drinks. We had a blast, we snorkled, went on tours, played in the ocean, swam in the pool, and played beach volleyball for hours!! It was the best vacation ever!! We finally got settled into our basement apartment, and things are coming along just great there. We are still doing a little decorating but it's looking more like home!! Let's see what else we've done this month...we've been to the Jazz Game with friends, (Thanks Stu and Sommer for the tickets, and thanks Whit and Jake for coming too, we had a blast!) We've cleaned house together, we've cooked together, we had Halloween (which was blast.) We've been to dinner and dessert with Cole and Jess and now they are addicted to Red Mango just like us, or more or less ME!! Anyways, this month has been the best ever and I just want to thank Nick for everything he has done for me. He truely is the best husband and I love him dearly. Halloween Happiness

Happy Halloween everyone. We had a blast on yesterday. Nick and I love halloween, so we love to dress up and love to decorate. We didn't do too much decorating to our house though. I had 2 costumes, a day costume for work, and a night costume for parties!!! At work I dressed up as a witch, I guess you could say. I made a orange tu tu, and then bought a little kid dress and wore it as a shirt, I got the cutest witch hat too!!! Nick was at work all day and didn't dress up, lame I know. But as far as our night costumes watch out 80's aerobic's intructors......ORLANDO and RITA are the coolest ever. Ha ha, don't laugh too hard. We will save our costumes so if you ever need to barrow, we got it all. Hope everyone had a fun, and safe halloween!!!
